This is an original, rolled, Japanese B1 (71 x 100 cm, 27.8 x 39.4 in) very large size theatrical movie poster from 1987 for the ORIGINAL (!) release of Akira the world famous Anime Movie.

This poster is in almost mint condition and has never been folded.

Akira (Japanese: アキラ) is a 1988 Japanese animated post-apocalyptic cyberpunk action film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, produced by Ryōhei Suzuki and Shunzō Katō, and written by Otomo and Izo Hashimoto, based on Otomo's 1982 manga of the same name. (Source: Wiki)

This poster is very very rare and highly sought after poster, printed in 1987 for the first release of Akira in Japan, is not a reproduction or a reprint.

To find this poster in B1 Size is very unusual and this is actually the first time that we have seen it. We purchased a number of posters from a collector who had been collecting since he was a teenager in the late 60`s in Okayama, Japan. This was definitely the diamond and took us by surprise - until this moment we had only seen it on the internet and in a museum! In Japan, posters were almost always printed in B2 format so to find a B1 or larger is very unusual and rare, to find one of Akira is something that is hard to express in words!

We only have one B1 Akira in stock and doubt that another will come our way for a while so it is our honor to send this to one lucky customer from the Land of the Rising Sun to the World!

A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
