This is an original Japanese poster from the FIRST release of Rear Window in 1954.
This is a once in a decade find even in Japan. We do not believe this poster has sold in any of the large auction houses before. The artwork is fantastic and unique to this poster design.
Rear Window is one of Hitchcock`s finest thrillers, James Stewart plays a wheelchair-bound photographer who spies on his neighbors from his apartment window, and then becomes convinced that one of them (Raymond Burr) has committed murder. He enlists the help of his society model girlfriend (Grace Kelly). This splendid one sheet replicates the tableau of the film itself, peering into the various windows of the apartment complex. The entire movie was shot on one set, the largest indoor set ever built at Paramount studios at the time. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay.
This poster is in a very excellent condition. It has no tears, or hard folds. The colors are very bright and have not faded. Please refer to the imagery as this is the exact poster that is for sale.
