“Christiane F.” (クリスチーネ・F), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1981, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O179

Sale price $250.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1981 for the first domestic theatrical release of Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo (West Germany, 1981), directed by Uli Edel and starring Natja Brunckhorst. Japanese first-issue country sheets for hard-hitting European dramas are highly collectible.

Film background
Based on the bestselling memoir, the film follows Berlin teenager Christiane as she spirals from club culture into heroin addiction and survival sex work, capturing the bleak underside of West Berlin in the Bowie-scored late-’70s. A lightning-rod release, it became a touchstone of European social-realist cinema.

Poster design
A stark, photo-driven country sheet: Christiane sits in a stained stairwell, biting a tourniquet as she exposes her forearm—an image that confronts the viewer without sensationalism. The towering cyan Japanese logotype 「クリスチーネF」 runs vertically at right, balanced by impact copy in red at left: 「私は13才。麻薬患者で娼婦。…」 Two torn-edge inset stills and a red diagonal accent carry the English title “Christiane F.” The Herald distributor mark and Japanese credits along the border are classic hallmarks of an authentic 1981 theatrical sheet with powerful wall presence.
