This is an original Japanese poster, printed in 1965 for the first theatrical release of Gamera, the Giant Monster (大怪獣ガメラ, Daikaijū Gamera, lit. "Giant Monster Gamera").

This is an exceptionally rare B0-format billboard poster, originally produced for cinema display and never intended for public sale. Large-format pieces like this were printed in very limited quantities, with almost none surviving in present day. To our knowledge, no other copy of this poster has surfaced on the market.

Gamera, the Giant Monster is a 1965 Japanese kaiju film directed by Noriaki Yuasa, with special effects by Yonesaburo Tsukiji, and produced and distributed by Daiei Film. It stars Eiji Funakoshi, Harumi Kiritachi, and Junichiro Yamashita. The story follows the chaos unleashed when an atomic bomb awakens Gamera, a prehistoric, fire-breathing turtle, from the Arctic. As authorities scramble to contain the destruction, the film introduces what would become one of Japan’s most iconic and enduring kaiju.
