"Mothra vs. Godzilla (モスラ対ゴジラ)", Original Re-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1970, Toho, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O200
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1970 for Toho’s domestic re-release of Mothra vs. Godzilla (Japan, 1964), directed by Ishirō Honda with Eiji Tsuburaya’s special effects. Early-Showa Godzilla revival sheets are highly collectible.
Film background
A greedy land deal awakens a colossal egg; soon Godzilla emerges and only Mothra—guided by the Shobijin—can defend Japan. Honda’s effects spectacle remains a fan-favorite for its pacing, miniature work, and heroic Mothra/god-beast duality.
Poster design
A kinetic battle tableau: Mothra looms wing-spread behind Godzilla as he breathes atomic fire; praying-mantis style claws rake the foreground. A vertical strip of inset stills bisects the scene, while the huge scarlet logotype 「モスラ対ゴジラ」 roars down the right. English header “GODZILLA AGAINST MOTHRA” and the blue Toho roundel complete the look—classic hallmarks of an authentic 1970 re-issue sheet with explosive wall presence.
