“The Specialists (Le Spécialiste)” (スペシャリスト), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1969, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O83

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1969 for the first theatrical release of The Specialists (Le Spécialiste / Gli specialisti) in Japan—Sergio Corbucci’s stylish, late-period spaghetti western starring Johnny Hallyday, with Gastone Moschin, Mario Adorf, and Françoise Fabian. An Italian–French co-production photographed in Techniscope and released in color.

Film background
Returning to the border town of Blackstone to avenge his brother’s death, gunfighter Hud Dixon (Hallyday) rides into a nest of corrupt townsfolk, greedy bankers, and outlaws led by a sadistic sheriff. Corbucci—master of the revisionist western—mixes pop flair and political bite, delivering a cool, Euro-mod counterpoint to Leone’s epics and Hallyday’s most famous screen role.

Poster design
The Japanese B2 presents Hallyday mounted at center, rifle in hand, framed by a blazing red spiral “sandstorm” sun that whips across the sky. Fallen bodies and charging riders sweep the foreground and horizon, while the jagged brush title 「スペシャリスト」 erupts across the top. The French legend “LE SPECIALISTE” in green anchors the lower left, with bilingual credit blocks and the 映倫 mark along the base—an eye-catching country sheet unique to the Japanese campaign.
