This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1989 for the first release of My Neighbor Totoro.
In this size this size this poster is very hard to come by and is in super high demand. It is the first time we have had this poster in our gallery.
Japanese B1 (71 x 100 cm, 27.8 x 39.4 in) very large size.
This poster is in excellent condition, it has never been folded and has no tears or pinholes. There are some small marks on the right hand side of the poster as it has been stored for over 30 years in a warehouse, please see additional imagery provided. Once framed with a mount this will not be noticeable.
Due to the poster being stored in a tube, it has not been exposed to light and therefore the colours are extremely bright,
PHayao Miyazaki, one of the founders of Studio Ghibli, wrote and directed this film. Studio Ghibli, which was founded in 1985, has been responsible for making so many magical animations. So popular and loved is Totoro that the studio use as their mascot/logo. There were a few different posters produced in Japan for the release of this film, and this is the most sought after.
