"Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (ゴジラ×メガギラス G消滅作戦)", Original Japanese Movie Poster 2000, Toho First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) C67

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2000 for the first theatrical release of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (ゴジラ×メガギラス G消滅作戦), produced and distributed by Toho. First release posters for this Millennium-era title are highly collectible, especially as the film marked the debut of the monstrous insect kaiju Megaguirus.

Film background
Directed by Masaaki Tezuka, the film follows a science-fiction reimagining of the Godzilla timeline, in which the Oxygen Destroyer was never used in 1954. Japan develops the “Dimension Tide,” a weapon designed to eliminate Godzilla by opening miniature black holes. However, an experimental test awakens prehistoric dragonflies called Meganula, which evolve into the enormous queen Megaguirus. The climactic battle between Godzilla and Megaguirus delivers high-energy spectacle, blending classic kaiju action with a modernized storyline and special effects suited to the Millennium era.

Poster design
The poster features a striking painted composition with Godzilla locked in a fierce battle against the massive, winged Megaguirus. Smaller Meganula swarm across the city below as flames engulf the skyline, while the bold title typography in red and purple dominates the bottom field. The vertical yellow tagline on the right declares this clash as “The greatest death match on Earth.” The dynamic artwork captures the intensity and scale of Toho’s 2000 kaiju revival.
