“STREET FIGHTER II TURBO” (1993) – ORIGINAL JAPANESE B2 PROMOTIONAL POSTER – CAPCOM SUPER FAMICOM RELEASE (STORE‑USE/非売品)
Extremely Rare | B2 Format | First Japanese Console Release (1993) | 51 × 73 cm (B2)

This is an original Japanese B2 shop poster printed for Capcom’s Super Famicom release of Street Fighter II Turbo (ストリートファイターII ターボ) on 10 July 1993—a smash that sold about 4.1 million copies worldwide (≈2.1M in Japan). This console entry followed the arcade phenomenon and cemented home‑play dominance for the series.

Japan‑only campaign & credit
Issued for retail display (店頭用/販促用) and not for sale (非売品), these B2s were printed in far smaller runs than magazine ads and were typically discarded after use—hence their scarcity today. Japanese dealer/auction records consistently classify contemporary game posters as 販促/非売品 store materials.

Poster design (what you see here)
Minimalist and bold: a white field with “VEGA ENTERS THE BATTLE.” in towering gold type; at center stands the dictator in crimson—Vega in Japan (known as M. Bison internationally)—arms folded beneath a sweeping cape. The lower left carries the flaming STREET FIGHTER II TURBO logo with the Japanese line 「どこまで強くなるのか。」; CAPCOM mark and SUPER FAMICOM licensing appear at lower right. (Name note: M. Bison is called “Vega” in Japan.)

Gaming context (why this matters)
Street Fighter II revolutionized arcades, dominating the early ’90s coin‑op market and moving tens of thousands of cabinets; the series’ now‑standard combo system famously emerged from an accidental discovery during development before becoming a genre pillar.
On the home front, Super Famicom (launched Nov 21, 1990) sold out its first 300,000 units within hours and quickly re‑established Nintendo’s market lead—an emblem of Japan’s late‑’80s/’90s tech wave alongside icons like the Walkman

Why this example is special (rarity & market)
An authentic 1993 Capcom store poster spotlighting the Japan‑named final boss, tied to the first SFC “Turbo” release—a sweet spot for collectors of Street Fighter, Super Famicom, and ’90s Japanese gaming design.
