Sale price $750.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1968 for the first theatrical release of Destroy All Monsters (怪獣総進撃), directed by Ishirō Honda with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Widely considered one of the greatest Showa-era Godzilla films, it remains a landmark in kaiju cinema for its scale, spectacle, and all-star monster cast.

Film background
Released to mark Toho’s 20th anniversary of kaiju filmmaking, Destroy All Monsters assembled nearly all of the studio’s famous creatures in one feature. Set in the then-future year of 1999, the film depicts Earth’s monsters living peacefully on “Monsterland” until alien invaders known as the Kilaaks seize control, unleashing them on the world’s cities. Humanity ultimately rallies, freeing the monsters for a climactic showdown against King Ghidorah at Mount Fuji. The film features Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, Minilla, Gorosaurus, Kumonga, Baragon, Manda, and even Varan, making it a definitive crossover event and a cult favorite among collectors and fans.

Poster design
The striking painted artwork shows Godzilla leading the monster ensemble in an explosive battle scene against King Ghidorah, with rays of destruction crisscrossing the night sky. Each kaiju is clearly labeled in Japanese, emphasizing the unprecedented scale of Toho’s “all-star” lineup. The bold red title typography dominates the composition, while images of the film’s human cast add grounding at the lower margin. This dramatic design perfectly conveys the promise of Toho’s most ambitious monster spectacle of the 1960s.
