This is an original Japanese B2 (51 x 73cm) poster for the first release of Harakiri (Seppuku) "切腹" in 1962.
Any poster from this film is very rare and hard to find - this one is the rarest.
This poster is probably one of the most sought after Japanese posters. The condition is mint - astonishing for a poster this old! We have sent this poster to California to get conservation linenbacked so that it will survive another 100 years!
This is one of the most iconic Japanese films directed by reknown Masaki Kobayashi. The story takes place between 1619 and 1630 during the Edo period and the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate. It tells the story of Hanshirō Tsugumo, a warrior without a lord.
