This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1962 for the first release of Testament of Orpheus.
This was Jean Cocteau's final film, and it's a wonderful conclusion to a remarkable artistic career (poet, novelist, dramatist designer, boxing manager, and filmmaker) going back some fifty years. Cocteau pulls off an encompassment of all aspects of his creativity and it's perhaps the best homage that the world of film could ever offer him. His "dying poet wandering through time, accused of entering a world no mortal should see," is reflected in his disarming stylized art of Orpheus, the musician of Green mythology, for this Japanese B2.
