This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1984 for Koji Hashimoto’s franchise revival The Return of Godzilla, starring Ken Tanaka and Yasuko Sawaguchi. After a nine-year hiatus, Toho rebooted the series with a darker, Cold-War-tinged tone that launched the Heisei-era continuity.
Design
An explosive city-under-siege tableau: jets streak past as the Super-X hovers, skyscrapers erupt, and a colossal Godzilla looms above. The diagonal headline slices across the blast zone, while the massive red logotype 「ゴジラ」 anchors the lower band—an unmistakable key art for the ’84 comeback.
