This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2001 for the theatrical release of All About Lily Chou-Chou (リリイ・シュシュのすべて), written and directed by Shunji Iwai.
Iwai’s modern classic follows a group of junior-high students whose obsessions, bullying, and online fandom orbit the ethereal pop singer “Lily Chou-Chou.” Shot on early digital video and featuring music by Takeshi Kobayashi with vocals by Salyu, the film became a defining work of 2000s Japanese cinema and marked early screen roles for Hayato Ichihara, Shugo Oshinari, and Yu Aoi.
The poster presents a minimalist, atmospheric design: a lone figure stands beneath a vast blue sky, a lattice communication tower at left, and pink kites drifting across the ether. The striking “C†” motif and vertical tagline at right (「十四歳の、リアル。」/ “The reality of being fourteen.”) capture the film’s mood of fragile adolescence and digital-distance.
Printed for the original domestic release and not subsequently reissued in this size, it remains a desirable piece for collectors of contemporary Japanese cinema and Iwai’s work.
