This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the “New Print” (ニュープリント版) revival release of Louis Malle’s classic French noir Ascenseur pour l’échafaud (Elevator to the Gallows). This exact “ニュープリント版” release opened in Japan on 9 October 2010 (with screenings beginning at venues such as Theatre Image Forum, then rolling out nationally).

Directed by Louis Malle and starring Jeanne Moreau, the film is famed for its razor-sharp noir tension and its iconic Miles Davis score—one of the most celebrated jazz soundtracks in cinema.
