This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2004 for the domestic promotional launch of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG. Issued by Bandai Visual/Emotion for stores and video retailers, it carries the “THIS POSTER IS NOT FOR SALE” notice along the foot—making it scarcer than standard theatrical materials. Film background
2nd GIG is the second Stand Alone Complex series from Production I.G, directed by Kenji Kamiyama under the supervision of Mamoru Oshii and based on Masamune Shirow’s seminal manga. Set in a near-future Japan, Section 9 confronts cyber-terror, political intrigue, and the Individual Eleven. The series features mechanical design by Takayuki Goto, character design by Tetsuya Nishio, and music by Yoko Kanno. The campaign date on this poster (“3.26 DVD & VIDEO SERIES START!!”) corresponds to the first volume’s home-video rollout in Japan.

Poster design
Major Motoko Kusanagi is rendered as a photoreal model perched on an industrial truss against a mist-shrouded skyline. A neon-green vertical tagline slices the composition, while the lower field showcases the bold typographic lockup “S.A.C. 2nd GIG — STAND ALONE COMPLEX,” staff credits, the campaign URL, and the Bandai Visual / Emotion marks. A striking, high-contrast piece with strong wall presence.
