This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for My Youth in Arcadia (わが青春のアルカディア), the Leiji Matsumoto–created anime feature set in the Captain Harlock / Arcadia universe. A cornerstone title of early-’80s space opera anime, the film expands Matsumoto’s romantic, melancholic vision of rebellion and freedom among the stars—an era-defining aesthetic that influenced generations of sci-fi animation.

Design
A striking, character-led composition with huge wall presence: Captain Harlock stands at the ship’s wheel, cloaked in deep crimson, skull insignia blazing at centre—pure Matsumoto iconography. The ghostly Arcadia silhouette looms behind him like a legend, while a luminous blonde heroine appears at right, balancing the composition with an almost dreamlike stillness. Bold colour blocking, clean line work, and the dramatic nautical wheel motif make this one of the most displayable B2 designs from classic space-anime cinema.
