Sale price $200.00

This is an original Japanese B2 video game promotional poster produced for the 14 December 2006 Japanese release of World Soccer Winning Eleven X for Xbox 360.

The campaign features Adriano, the Brazilian international and Inter Milan striker, whose powerful playing style became closely associated with this celebrated period of Konami’s football series.

Combining a large monochrome portrait with a dynamic colour action photograph, the poster captures the arrival of Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer on Xbox 360 during one of the most memorable periods in its rivalry with EA Sports’ FIFA.

Game background

Winning Eleven X is the Japanese Xbox 360 release associated with Pro Evolution Soccer 6, known in North America as Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007.

Developed and published by Konami, it brought the series’ football simulation to a new generation of hardware. Its appeal rested on the qualities that had established Winning Eleven’s reputation: responsive passing, carefully timed movement, tactical positioning and the satisfaction of creating a goal through well-constructed play.

The series’ Master League mode added a longer-term dimension, allowing players to develop a squad and compete across successive seasons. Alongside competitive matches between friends, it became a central part of the Winning Eleven experience.

This poster documents the specific Japanese Xbox 360 campaign, with its domestic title, platform branding, original pricing and December release announcement.

Adriano and the game’s legacy

Adriano was officially selected as the image character for Winning Eleven X. His presence on this poster reflects that promotional role.

A formidable striker for Inter Milan and Brazil, Adriano was known for his physical strength and powerful left-footed shooting. Those qualities translated memorably into the Winning Eleven and PES games, where his ability to strike from distance made him a favourite among players.

For many fans, Adriano remains inseparable from the PES 6 era. His appearance gives the poster a particular nostalgic appeal, connecting a recognisable football personality with a generation of competitive gaming.

Winning Eleven and the rivalry with FIFA

During the 2000s, Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA represented the defining rivalry in football video games.

FIFA’s extensive licensing and broadcast-style presentation offered considerable appeal. Winning Eleven built a devoted following through the feel of its football: the timing of a through ball, the balance between attack and defence, and the sense that an opening had to be earned.

The distinction was never absolute, but it shaped years of debate among players. Choosing between the two series became part of football gaming culture, with each new release inviting comparisons of responsiveness, realism, team selection and presentation.

The PES 6 generation remains particularly fondly remembered. Although the Xbox 360 edition differed from its PlayStation 2 counterpart in features and execution, this poster belongs to that same influential moment in the series’ history.

Poster design

The design presents Adriano in two contrasting views against a pale background.

At left, an oversized black-and-white portrait shows him looking upward. At right, a colour action photograph in Inter Milan’s blue-and-black striped kit introduces movement, with horizontal streaks extending behind his body.

Across the centre, the Japanese slogan reads:

「この感覚は、臨場感という言葉では足りない。」

“The word ‘immersion’ is not enough to describe this feeling.”

The key word 「臨場感」, expressing the sensation of being present at the action, is highlighted in green.

The WORLD SOCCER Winning Eleven X logo dominates the lower centre, its enormous red X reinforcing the Xbox edition’s identity. Konami branding appears at upper left, balanced by the Xbox 360 logo at upper right.

A horizontal row of four screenshots introduces the player models, match action and stadium environment. Along the bottom, licensing logos accompany the prominent release announcement:

“12.14 ON SALE”

The combination of football photography, game imagery and bold branding makes this a distinctive piece of Japanese sports-game advertising.

This poster brings together Adriano, Inter Milan and one of football gaming’s most recognisable franchises.
