This is an original Japanese movie pamphlet poster from the first-ever theatrical release of Walt Disney’s Peter Pan in Japan, 1955, presented by RKO Radio Pictures. Released at Tokyo’s prestigious Tōgeki Theater, this beautifully preserved pamphlet poster commemorated the theater’s 100th Roadshow screening — a milestone in postwar Japanese cinema history.
The front cover features a stunning dual-panel design:
- On the right, a vivid portrait of Peter Pan set against a swirling rainbow of color.
- On the left, a charming illustrated map of Never Never Island, surrounded by beloved characters including Captain Hook, the Lost Boys, and Tinker Bell.
Inside, the foldout layout includes 17 full-color stills from the film, alongside Japanese text introducing characters, story highlights, and promotional details. The reverse also features vintage advertising from the era, including beautifully styled Shionogi vitamin promotions — a nostalgic touch that adds to its authenticity.
