This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the first Japanese cinema release of Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (新ポリスアカデミー／バトルロイヤル), the sixth instalment in the hugely popular Police Academy comedy series. The film was produced in 1989, and it first opened theatrically in Japan on 8 April 1989, distributed domestically by Warner Bros.
Directed by Peter Bonerz, the film reunites Bubba Smith, David Graf, Michael Winslow, Leslie Easterbrook, Marion Ramsey, Lance Kinsey, G. W. Bailey and George Gaynes, with Matt McCoy returning as Nick Lassard. This time, the Police Academy gang investigates a mysterious criminal organisation responsible for a wave of robberies and increasingly audacious attacks across the city, while attempting to uncover the mastermind operating from within the shadows.
Poster design
A brilliantly exuberant Japanese design that pushes the ensemble-comedy aspect of the series to the foreground. Against an intense bright yellow background, the enormous 新ポリスアカデミー / “New Police Academy” logo explodes across the upper section in orange, blue and red, surrounded by slogans announcing the return of the original Police Academy gang.
The centre is dominated by a huge mysterious silhouetted criminal figure, complete with fedora and cigar, while the Police Academy ensemble erupts from a fiery police-badge composition below. The characters are presented in an intentionally chaotic mixture of weapons, uniforms, exaggerated expressions and sight gags—perfectly capturing the anarchic tone of the series.
The Japanese subtitle バトルロイヤル (“Battle Royal”) is rendered in enormous red lettering, while the surrounding copy announces a new mission to uncover the identity of the mysterious giant criminal organisation. The multicoloured star border, saturated yellow field and densely packed cast imagery make this a wonderfully distinctive piece of late-1980s Japanese Hollywood-film advertising.

Condition
Excellent. The poster retains superb colour saturation, with the brilliant yellow background, red typography and colourful ensemble artwork remaining exceptionally vivid. There are only very minor signs of age and handling, with no significant condition issues affecting the central artwork or typography. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale.
