This is an original Japanese B2 poster produced for the Japanese theatrical release of The Possession (ポゼッション), the supernatural horror film produced by Sam Raimi (Ghost House Pictures).
This earlier design variant is very hard to find even in Japan! It is widely regarded as an exceptional and leading example of 2010`s Japanese movie poster art.
What makes this sheet especially collectible is the illustration artwork by legendary manga artist Kazuo Umezu (楳図かずお)—created in collaboration with the film and developed directly from the movie’s shocking “hand-from-the-mouth” imagery.
Poster design
A fantastic, gallery-ready monochrome illustration: a terrified face is seized by a grotesque, crawling hand—pure Umezu-style body-horror linework—paired with small stills at left and the Japanese title ポゼッション above. The design is boldly signed in the artwork, and the poster carries the 5.25 ROADSHOW release callout (as pictured), matching the film’s Japan rollout.
