This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the first Japanese release of The Punisher (パニッシャー), the 1989 Marvel Comics adaptation starring Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle, the vigilante “Punisher.” The film was distributed in Japan by Nihon Herald Eiga (日本ヘラルド映画) and opened theatrically on 27 January 1990.
Poster design
A superb, ultra-’80s Japanese action design: Lundgren stands centre-frame in tactical gear with an ammunition belt and heavy weaponry, posed in front of a motorcycle against a textured midnight-blue background. The right-side vertical tagline reads 「みせてやる、オレの必殺猟法。」 (“I’ll show you my deadly hunting method.”), while the header promotes it as 「ドルフ・ラングレン最新第2弾」 (“Dolph Lundgren’s latest—second installment”). A striking, graphic, highly displayable Japanese B2.
