“All That Jazz” (オール・ザット・ジャズ), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1979, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) F113A

Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese B2 movie poster printed in 1979 for the first Japanese theatrical release of All That Jazz (オール・ザット・ジャズ), a United States musical drama directed by Bob Fosse, starring Roy Scheider, with Jessica Lange, Leland Palmer, and Ann Reinking.

Film background
Released in 1979, All That Jazz is Fosse’s feverish, semi-autobiographical masterpiece—part backstage musical, part psychological self-portrait—following a driven choreographer-director whose work obsession and self-destruction blur into performance. The film became one of the era’s most celebrated Hollywood musicals, winning major international awards (including the Palme d’Or at Cannes, shared) and remaining a defining statement on show business, ego, and mortality.

Poster design
A brilliant piece of typographic Japanese design—minimal, modern, and instantly iconic. The composition is built on sharp diagonals: ALL THAT JAZZ is rendered in bold black lettering like stage rigging, with a silhouetted top-hatted figure stepping across the title as if onto a spotlight beam. Below, a wide diagonal strip of chorus-line dancers—arms raised in unison—cuts across the lower field like a burst of rehearsal energy. Award seals and credits are integrated cleanly into the negative space, making this one of the most elegant, graphic B2s of the late 1970s.
