This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1964 for the first release of The Visit.

This almost 5′ tall STB poster features fantastic artwork. The tatekan STB format had much lower print numbers compared to regular Japanese B2s. They are very rare, especially for more popular film titles, and are highly sought after by collectors today.

The Visit is a 1964 drama film directed by Bernhard Wicki, based on the famous 1956 play Der Besuch der alten Dame (The Visit) by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. The film stars Ingrid Bergman and Anthony Quinn in a gripping tale of revenge, morality, and corruption. Bergman plays Karla Zachanassian, a wealthy woman who returns to her impoverished hometown with a chilling proposition: she will donate a fortune to the town if the man who wronged her (Quinn) is executed.

With haunting performances and a morally complex narrative, The Visit explores the dark intersections of justice and greed, and remains a powerful adaptation of Dürrenmatt's cynical masterpiece.
