“Fight Club” (ファイト・クラブ), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1999, First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) K28
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1999 for the first domestic theatrical release of Fight Club (ファイト・クラブ), directed by David Fincher and released in Japan by 20th Century Fox/Fox 2000. First-issue Japanese posters for Fincher’s cult landmark—starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter—are highly collectible.
Film background
Adapted from Chuck Palahniuk’s novel, the film follows an insomniac office worker who forms an underground fighting collective with the anarchic Tyler Durden, spiraling into identity fracture and anti-consumerist revolt. Initially divisive, the movie became a touchstone of late-1990s cinema for its razor editing, industrial soundscape, and subversive satire.
Poster design
An instantly iconic country sheet: the foaming pink bar of soap—embossed with the Japanese logotype 「ファイト・クラブ」—sits in a metal dish across the upper field. Below, side-by-side portraits of Pitt and Norton anchor the layout, linked by punchy orange copy and credit lines. Studio billing and the Eirin mark run along the footer—classic hallmarks of an authentic first-release sheet with bold wall presence.
