This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for the 20th-anniversary return of Nobuhiro Yamashita’s Linda Linda Linda. First released in 2005, the film returned to Japanese cinemas on 22 August 2025 in a 4K digital remaster distributed by Bitters End. The yellow 4K badge identifies this anniversary edition; the 2005 date in the lower credits refers to the film itself.
With three days left before their school festival, three high-school musicians recruit Son, a Korean exchange student played by Bae Doona, to sing a set of covers by Japanese punk band The Blue Hearts. Aki Maeda, Yū Kashii and Shiori Sekine of Base Ball Bear complete the quartet. Much of the film’s charm lies in what happens between songs: missed cues, long pauses and the gradual ease with which four girls become a band.
The poster uses a photograph taken by Suilen Higashino on the school rooftop during the original shoot. The four students face the camera in uniform, flashing peace signs, with a sunburst electric guitar and pale green bass slung across the middle of the group. Above them, LINDA LINDA LINDA fills the sky in three staggered lines of yellow brush lettering. A narrow column of black text runs through the title: a lyric from The Blue Hearts’ Linda Linda about the gentleness and warmth of passing time. Its placement gives the original photograph a new poignancy twenty years on.
