"Mobile Suit SD Gundam", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1989, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) M109

Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1989 for the first theatrical release of Mobile Suit SD Gundam (機動戦士SDガンダム) — the debut big-screen outing for the super-deformed parody of the Gundam universe.

Bundled into Toei and Shochiku’s spring break anime programme on 25 February 1989, the 30-minute short re-imagines Amuro, Char, and Zeon’s mobile suits as tiny, wise-cracking chibi robots locked in slap-stick space battles. Directed by Tsutomu Iida with designs by Koji Sugiura, the film launched the SD craze that would spawn sequels, OVAs, manga, and a best-selling line of BB Senshi model kits. Packed with fourth-wall gags, musical numbers, and toy commercials in disguise, it became a cult favourite among late-’80s Gundam fans and collectors of mecha memorabilia.

It is over 36 years old!

This poster is in excellent condition. Please refer to the imagery (both front and back) as this is the exact poster that is for sale.
