This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1984 for Hayao Miyazaki’s seminal feature Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (produced by Topcraft / Tokuma Shoten and released domestically by Toei). The film’s success laid the groundwork for Studio Ghibli and set the template for Miyazaki’s environmental epics.

Design
The iconic dusk tableau: Nausicaä stands calmly atop an Ohmu, wind lifting her hair while the sky fades from blue to amber. The vertical copy at right evokes her bond with nature—an image that became the definitive key art for the 1984 campaign. The warm palette and soft linework capture the film’s quiet grandeur.
