“Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (風の谷のナウシカ)”, Original Japanese Soundtrack Album Promotional Poster 1984, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O81

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster issued in 1984 for Animage Records’ “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind – Drama Album” (アニメージュレコード「風の谷のナウシカ・ドラマ編」). Made for record-shop display (not sold to the public), it carries the Animage / Tokuma Shoten logo at the top left and the credit 作画/宮崎駿 (“Art by Hayao Miyazaki”) at lower right.

Film background
Serialized in Animage magazine beginning in 1982, Nausicaä became Hayao Miyazaki’s breakthrough feature in 1984, with a score by Joe Hisaishi. The film’s success directly led to the founding of Studio Ghibli the following year; its music releases—image and drama albums—helped define the Ghibli sound and built anticipation for the theatrical premiere.

Poster design
A serene watercolor/ink illustration by Hayao Miyazaki shows Nausicaä leaning forward from her glider (Mehve) with Teto on her shoulder, gazing across a vast green valley and cloudbank. The composition is largely text-free—just the Animage emblem and tiny release line along the bottom—giving the piece the feel of a fine-art print and making clear it is a music/record campaign rather than a theatrical credit poster.

Condition
Very good / excellent overall. Light handling and gentle waviness with foxing at the lower right margin (see photos). Presents beautifully when framed.

It is over 40 years old.

It is not a reproduction or a reprint.

Certificate of Authenticity included.
