This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1974 for the first domestic theatrical release of The Man with the Golden Gun (007/黄金銃を持つ男), produced by Eon Productions and released in Japan by United Artists. First-issue Japanese sheets for Roger Moore’s second Bond outing remain highly collectible.

Film background
Directed by Guy Hamilton, the ninth Eon film pits James Bond against master assassin Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee), whose single-shot golden weapon and bespoke bullets give the film its title. Co-stars include Britt Ekland, Maud Adams, and Hervé Villechaize. Set pieces range from the Bangkok canals to the solar-power island lair in Thailand (now nicknamed “James Bond Island”), with the computer-planned corkscrew car jump among the series’ signature stunts.

Poster design
A dynamic montage centres Roger Moore with drawn pistol, flanked by explosive vignettes, Bond girls, and hardware from the film, while a monumental “golden gun” and cartridge dominate the foreground. The oversized red “007” device and bold katakana title 「黄金銃を持つ男」 anchor the lower field. United Artists crediting and the Eirin censorship mark appear at the foot, confirming first domestic issue.
