This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1975 for the first domestic theatrical release of The Way of the Dragon (ドラゴンへの道), produced by Concord Production Inc. and distributed in Japan by Toei (東映洋画). Japanese first-issue sheets for Bruce Lee’s directorial debut are highly sought after across martial-arts and Hong Kong cinema collecting.

Film background

Written, directed by, and starring Bruce Lee, the film follows Tang Lung’s trip to Rome to defend a family restaurant, culminating in the now-legendary showdown with Chuck Norris inside the Colosseum—one of the most celebrated fight sequences in screen history. Japan’s release opened on 25 January 1975 and is remembered for a unique local version that used an English theme song by Mike Remedios.

Poster design

A commanding, large photographic portrait of Lee in fighting stance dominates the sheet, ringed by action vignettes—including the Colosseum duel and nunchaku scenes—set against a deep, charcoal ground. The top carries the jagged brush-stroke title 「ドラゴンへの道」 in striking red with the blue banner line 「最後のブルース・リー」, while the English credit “Bruce Lee: THE WAY OF THE DRAGON” sits over an illustrated Colosseum motif at lower right. The Eirin censorship mark appears at the foot, alongside release credits—standard hallmarks of a domestic first issue.
