This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1946 for the first premiere release of Casablanca in Japan. This poster is extremely rare and is one of the most collectible and sought after titles.
This special poster (the uncommon B3 size) was crafted especially for the first Japanese release of Casablanca, and printed for use in only the theaters where it premiered. The poster mentions that date of June 13, 1946 and the three theaters where it debuted, Musashimo Kan, Houraku Zza, and Denkikan. Besides being exceedingly rare, its gorgeous imagery of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman sets it apart from other formats. Against the war-torn backdrop of Casablanca, Bogart and Bergman rekindle a romance amidst political intrigue, corruption and murder, in a film considered to be one of the finest of all time. The picture went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture, Director and Screenplay. To the surprise of no one, Bogart received his first nomination for Best Actor. A highly unique find, the B3 presented here is in a very fine condition.
