“A Hard Day’s Night”, Original Japanese Re-Release Movie Poster 1982, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O747

Sale price $120.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1982 for a Japanese re-release of The Beatles: A Hard Day’s Night (ビートルズがやって来る ヤァ!ヤァ!ヤァ!), Richard Lester’s 1964 pop-cinema landmark starring John, Paul, George, and Ringo at the height of Beatlemania.

Film background
First released in 1964, A Hard Day’s Night is widely regarded as the definitive Beatles film—part music picture, part comic chase, and part time-capsule of early-’60s youth culture. Shot in punchy black-and-white with documentary-style energy, it helped set the visual grammar for the modern music video and remains one of the most influential rock films ever made. Japan’s 1982 revival positioned it for a new generation of cinema audiences and collectors during the era’s renewed global fascination with the Beatles’ legacy.

Poster design
An outstanding, graphic Japanese layout built for maximum impact at distance: the four Beatles’ faces are rendered in bold yellow/black halftone portraits, each framed by a jagged star-shaped cut-out down the left side. A diagonal band of white stars slices across the grey field toward the English title “The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night” in bright yellow typography. Below, the famous running silhouette still anchors the design, while the large Japanese title 「ビートルズがやって来る ヤァ!ヤァ!ヤァ!」 explodes across the lower half in heavy black type with a yellow accent strip—pure pop-art energy, and a superb example of early-’80s Japanese re-release poster style.
