Sale price $110.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1965 for the Japanese release of the official feature-length colour documentary covering the IX Olympic Winter Games, Innsbruck 1964 (インスブルック冬季オリンピック).

Film background
The Innsbruck Winter Olympics (1964) remains one of the most iconic early-television era Games—alpine disciplines, ski jumping, and speed events captured in sweeping, large-scale cinematography. Japan issued this as a Japanese-language documentary presentation for theatrical audiences, reflecting the period when Olympic “record films” were treated as major cinema events rather than television recap.

Poster design
A bold, kinetic sports design dominated by a full-figure skier lunging toward the viewer—bibbed “7” with INNSBRUCK across the chest—set against a crisp snow field. The title runs vertically in oversized scarlet type: 「冬季オリンピック1964」, paired with the large-format 「インスブルック」 header. Along the left margin, small colour blocks inset additional event imagery (skiing / skating / ceremony scenes), while the lower band opens into a packed stadium vista with flags and the Olympic flame—anchored by the printed credit line “IX. OLYMPISCHE WINTERSPIELE INNSBRUCK 1964” and the TOWA mark at bottom right. It’s a superb mid-1960s Japanese “sports-documentary” one-sheet with real graphic punch.
