This is an original Japanese tatekan “speed poster” produced for the 17 March 1970 (Shōwa 45) Toei Manga Matsuri programme, headlined by “Chibikko Remi and His Dog Capi” (ちびっ子レミと名犬カピ / Nobody’s Boy).
The 1970 programme lineup (as shown on this sheet) includes: タイガーマスク (Tiger Mask), ひみつのアッコちゃん バンザイ!ペットくん, and チュウチュウバンバン—all listed as same-bill titles for the 1970 release.
Poster design
A classic early-1970s Toei Manga Matsuri composite design in the scarce vertical format: the bold masthead 東映まんがまつり crowns a colourful character collage, with large diagonal title panels for each feature—ちびっ子レミと名犬カピ as the main title, plus vivid wedge panels for チュウチュウバンバン, ひみつのアッコちゃん バンザイ!ペットくん, and タイガーマスク. The Eirin mark is printed at lower right (as pictured). A wonderful, display-ready piece of Toei festival-era animation history.
