“Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” (スター・トレック2/カーンの逆襲), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1982, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) B183A

Sale price $110.00

This is an original Japanese B2 movie poster printed in 1982 for the first Japanese theatrical release of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (スター・トレック2/カーンの逆襲), directed by Nicholas Meyer and starring William Shatner, Ricardo Montalbán, and Leonard Nimoy.

Film background
Released in 1982, The Wrath of Khan is widely regarded as the standout film of the original Star Trek series—a tighter, darker, character-driven sequel that pits Admiral Kirk against his most formidable adversary, Khan Noonien Singh. Built around themes of aging, sacrifice, and duty, it elevated the franchise’s cinematic reputation and remains a touchstone for sci-fi action storytelling.

Poster design
A superb space-battle Japanese one-sheet dominated by the Enterprise tearing through a starfield as an enemy vessel fires scarlet beams across the frame—immediately signalling high-stakes confrontation. The top copy is classic Japanese hype text, selling the scale of the showdown, while the bold title 「スター・トレック2/カーンの逆襲」 anchors the lower half in huge cream typography. A burst of multicolour “phaser trails” radiates outward from the central English logo mark, leading the eye down to a montage strip of key character imagery—Kirk, Khan, and the bridge crew—set against warm, cinematic lighting. A striking, very “1982” sci-fi design with enormous wall presence.
