“Lost Highway” (ロスト・ハイウェイ), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1997, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) A138

Sale price $250.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1997 for the first theatrical release of Lost Highway, David Lynch’s unsettling neo-noir psychological thriller.

Lost Highway (ロスト・ハイウェイ), directed by David Lynch, is a nightmarish, dream-logic descent into obsession, identity, and violence. Released in 1997, the film follows jazz saxophonist Fred Madison (Bill Pullman), whose marriage to Renee (Patricia Arquette) spirals into paranoia after a series of anonymous videotapes appear at their home—until reality fractures completely and Fred seemingly transforms into a different man, Pete Dayton (Balthazar Getty), living a different life. It’s a film built on mood, menace, and ambiguity—where nothing stays stable for long.

Widely regarded as one of Lynch’s most hypnotic and divisive works, Lost Highway has become a true cult landmark of 1990s cinema—celebrated for its pure atmosphere, unsettling imagery, and the way it collapses noir into something abstract and terrifying.

Poster design
This striking Japanese B2 features bold, high-impact typography—“LYNCH IS BACK!” exploding in oversized red and black across the top—paired with a moody, cinematic montage beneath: two starkly lit profiles with crimson lipstick, and a tense night-driving scene that evokes the film’s recurring highways and nocturnal dread. A dramatic red band anchors the bottom with the Japanese title ロスト・ハイウェイ and release text, creating a superb, gallery-ready composition that feels both graphic and ominous.
