"X-Men: Children of the Atom", Original Release Japanese CAPCOM Promotional Poster 1994, Extremely Rare, B1 Size (c.71 × 103 cm)

Sale price $1,250.00

X-Men: Children of the Atom is a landmark arcade fighter that helped establish CAPCOM’s legendary Marvel fighting game legacy.

This is an original Japanese B1 poster issued in 1994 by CAPCOM to promote X-Men: Children of the Atom, the classic Marvel arcade title that laid the groundwork for the entire Capcom/Marvel crossover era. Posters of this kind were distributed in extremely limited numbers, typically to Japanese arcades, and were never sold commercially. Today they are regarded as some of the most desirable and hardest-to-find pieces of arcade and gaming history.

The artwork features an iconic early roster of X-Men rendered in dramatic, high-impact illustration—Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Iceman, and Psylocke—set against a striking comic-panel collage border. The composition is anchored by the bold “X-MEN” logo and “CHILDREN OF THE ATOM” title, with the CAPCOM branding at the top and Marvel Comics branding and Japanese title text (エックス・メン / チルドレン オブ ジ アトム) along the bottom—an unmistakable display piece for any serious Capcom, Marvel, or arcade collector.

X-Men: Children of the Atom is widely regarded as a defining entry in 1990s arcade culture. Released in 1994, it marked one of CAPCOM’s most important collaborations with Marvel—introducing fast-paced tag-adjacent energy, screen-filling special effects, and the kind of character-driven spectacle that would directly influence the titles that followed. It remains a cornerstone of the path that led to later classics and the broader Capcom/Marvel fighting lineage.

This poster is in overall excellent condition for its age. There are tiny pinholes in each corner from display—please see the additional imagery provided (both front and back). Aside from these, it presents beautifully with strong colour and excellent overall visual appeal.

As with nearly all arcade promotional posters, print runs were very small compared to film posters, making survival rates extremely low—especially in this condition.
