“Blade Runner” (ブレードランナー), Original Japanese First Release Movie Poster 1982, B3 Size (c. 36 × 51.5 cm) O642

Sale price $160.00

This is an original Japanese B3 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner (1982)—starring Harrison Ford, with Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Daryl Hannah, Edward James Olmos, and M. Emmet Walsh. Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and scored by Vangelis, Blade Runner is now widely regarded as one of the defining works of science-fiction cinema. The film opened theatrically in Japan on 10 July 1982

Poster design
A quintessential early-1980s Japanese campaign layout that leans into scale and atmosphere: the dystopian cityscape glows under searchlights and hovering spinners, while an intense close-up of Ford’s Deckard anchors the sheet—blaster raised—framed by key character and action imagery including Rachael and the film’s noir-inflected street world. Across the top, the bold Japanese hook line reads: 「2020年—レプリカントは人類に宣戦布告!」 (“In 2020—the Replicants declare war on humanity!”), perfectly capturing the film’s apocalyptic futurism as it was sold to Japanese audiences in 1982.

As with many Japanese B3 issues, the reverse is fully printed with Japanese text, stills, and programme-style layout content (synopsis/cast/features), making it especially desirable as original theatrical marketing ephemera rather than a standard one-sided poster.
