“Ghostbusters” (ゴーストバスターズ), Original Japanese First Release Movie Poster 1984, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O644
This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of Ghostbusters (1984), Ivan Reitman’s era-defining supernatural comedy—starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts. The film opened theatrically in Japan on 2 December 1984.
A genuine pop-culture monument, Ghostbusters became one of the signature blockbusters of the 1980s—instantly recognisable through its iconography, theme song, and New York-set blend of comedy, action, and paranormal chaos.
Poster design
A bold, graphic Japanese layout that treats the “No-Ghost” logo as a towering design object: the left panel is pure icon (black field, red circle-slash, white ghost), while the right panel delivers a kinetic montage of key moments—proton-pack action, skyline, the team in full gear, and the Ecto-1—locked into a punchy, modernist split composition. It’s an exceptionally displayable B2: instantly readable from across a room, and unapologetically Ghostbusters.
A major bonus with this format: the reverse is fully printed with Japanese text and imagery (programme-style synopsis/cast/features), making it especially desirable as original Japanese theatrical marketing ephemera rather than a standard one-sided poster.
