Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed for the Festival Brigitte Bardot retrospective screenings, celebrating the iconic French actress and model’s career from the 1950s through the 1990s.

Brigitte Bardot, often referred to simply as “B.B.,” rose to international fame in the 1950s and 1960s as one of cinema’s most recognisable sex symbols. Born in 1934 in Paris, Bardot began as a dancer and model before making her film debut in 1952. She became a global star with films such as And God Created Woman (1956), Contempt (1963), and Viva Maria! (1965). Known for her free-spirited persona, glamour, and unapologetic sensuality, Bardot helped redefine female sexuality on screen. By the 1970s, she retired from acting to focus on animal rights activism, but her cultural influence remained immense.

This Japanese B2 poster was created for a special cinematic festival programme (特集) dedicated to Bardot, featuring her most beloved works from the 50s, 60s, and 90s. The design prominently showcases a youthful Bardot seated casually with her knees drawn up, gazing directly at the viewer with a mix of innocence and allure. The bold “B.B.” in large pink typography dominates the lower portion, while colourful Japanese text highlights the retrospective’s theme of celebrating Bardot’s irresistible charm across decades.
