"Le Mans / The Thomas Crown Affair" (Steve McQueen Special), Original Re-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1980s, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) M120
This is an original Japanese poster printed in the 1980s for a TAG Heuer-sponsored Steve McQueen double-feature revival of Le Mans (1971) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1968).
Le Mans — McQueen’s passion-project racing film, shot on location during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is famed for its documentary-style action, minimal dialogue, and the Monaco-blue TAG Heuer chronograph that became an icon of motorsport style.
The Thomas Crown Affair — Norman Jewison’s ultra-stylish caper casts McQueen as a bored Boston millionaire who masterminds a bank heist and matches wits (and romance) with insurance investigator Faye Dunaway. Its split-screen editing, chess-game seduction, and Oscar®-winning theme “The Windmills of Your Mind” define late-1960s cool.
TAG Heuer’s Japanese campaign celebrated McQueen’s enduring link to the brand and to high-octane elegance, pairing his definitive roles for a limited theatrical run.
It is about 35 years old!
