“Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in the Land of Demons” (子連れ狼 冥府魔道), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1973, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) K247
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1973 for the first release of Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in the Land of Demons (子連れ狼 冥府魔道), the fifth film in the celebrated six-part Lone Wolf and Cub series. Starring Wakayama Tomisaburō as Ogami Ittō—former shōgun executioner turned wandering assassin—travelling the roads with his young son Daigorō, the series remains one of the most iconic father-and-son revenge sagas in Japanese cinema, adapted from the legendary manga by Kazuo Koike and Gōseki Kojima.
Design
A dramatic, high-impact design dominated by Ittō and Daigorō framed behind gleaming crossed blades, their faces lit with cold intensity as masked figures crowd the shadows behind them. The monumental yellow series title 「子連れ狼」 explodes across the centre, paired with the blue subtitle 「冥府魔道」 (Land of Demons), while a vivid red sunset and distant rider at lower right echo the series’ lone-wolf mythos. A superb, instantly recognisable “late-series” campaign image with enormous wall presence.
Condition
Good. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale. This is a cinema-used example with visible wear and handling marks consistent with age, including creasing and surface wear on the reverse. It will still display very well once framed, and we have taken its condition into account when pricing.
