“Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades”, Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1972, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) F96
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1972 for the first release of Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades (子連れ狼 死に風に向う乳母車), the second film in the legendary Lone Wolf and Cub series. Starring Wakayama Tomisaburō as Ogami Ittō—former shōgun executioner turned wandering assassin—travelling the roads with his young son Daigorō, the series remains one of the most iconic father-and-son revenge sagas in Japanese cinema, adapted from the classic manga by Kazuo Koike and Gōseki Kojima.
Poster design
A dramatic, high-impact composition dominated by intense close-ups of Ittō and Daigorō, their faces framed against a dark ground that heightens the sense of fate and danger. Below, Ittō pushes the baby cart forward into a storm of red silhouettes—soldiers and spear points reduced to graphic shapes—while a lone figure on a bridge above adds a chilling note of surveillance and impending confrontation. The huge yellow series title 「子連れ狼」 explodes across the centre, paired with the bold white subtitle 「死に風に向う乳母車」—a classic early-’70s Toho-era layout with immense wall presence.
