“Mirrorman” (ミラーマン), Original Japanese LaserDisc Box Set Promotional Poster 1996, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P185

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster printed in 1996 to advertise a high-end LaserDisc (LD) box set for the classic tokusatsu television series Mirrorman (ミラーマン, 1971–1972). This is not a theatrical movie poster—it is a home-video retail advertising poster for a premium collector release.

Series background
Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, Mirrorman (1971–72) follows Kyōtarō Kagami, a photographer who discovers he is the son of an alien father from a 2D world and a human mother. Using a special pendant, he transforms into the giant superhero Mirrorman to protect Earth from an invading alien force known as “The Invaders.” The series is a key title of early-1970s tokusatsu—part of the golden era of suitmation, miniatures, and heroic “giant protector” storytelling.

About the LD BOX (as printed on the poster)
This poster advertises a 15-disc LD box set—a true luxury collector item—priced at ¥82,500 + tax (¥84,975 inc. tax). The text indicates a limited “complete reservation only” release:

  • 発売日:7月21日 — Release date: July 21

  • 完全予約限定Reservation-only / limited pre-order

  • 予約締切:6月15日 — Pre-order deadline: June 15

The set is described as containing the complete series (and is known to include all 51 episodes plus the Mirror Fight spinoff).

Poster design
A bold, minimalist, high-impact layout: MIRRORMAN dominates the top in oversized English typography, paired with a dramatic hero pose and signature beam effect. The clean white field gives it a crisp “collector-product” feel, while the strong blue ミラーマン logo and the heavy LD BOX information strip at the bottom lock it firmly into mid-1990s Japanese home-video marketing aesthetics—extremely displayable for any tokusatsu collection.
