This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster advertising “THE ART” series of Studio Ghibli films for Windows 95 & Macintosh. The poster details a rollout schedule beginning in November 1996 and running through April 1997, with individual releases spotlighted by title and month—an exceptional piece of mid-1990s “digital era” Ghibli ephemera, created at the exact moment the studio’s artwork was being packaged for computers and home users.

Release schedule as printed on the poster:

Poster design

A beautifully balanced collage-style design that functions like a mini Ghibli gallery wall. Each title is represented by a soft-edged “window” featuring key imagery: Nausicaä in a gentle portrait; Laputa with the iconic flight sequence; Totoro with Mei/Satsuki and the Catbus; Kiki’s Delivery Service in a painterly cityscape; Only Yesterday with Taeko in the quiet rural interior; and Porco Rosso with the seaplane cockpit and characters. The typography is crisp and bilingual—“THE ART CD-ROM SERIES OF GHIBLI’S FILMS”—giving it a clean, design-forward 1990s tech aesthetic while keeping the artwork front and centre.
