“Reservoir Dogs” (レザボア・ドッグス), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1993, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) C53 A
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1993 for the first Japanese theatrical release of Reservoir Dogs (レザボア・ドッグス), Quentin Tarantino’s explosive debut feature and one of the most influential independent crime films ever made. Japanese first-release B2s for this title are genuinely hard to find in top condition—especially because this style is printed on thicker stock that often shows strong fold impressions when handled or stored. We have another in stock in very good / excellent condition for $200 USD.
Film background
Released in 1992 and introduced to Japan the following year, Reservoir Dogs announced Tarantino as a once-in-a-generation filmmaker: razor-wire dialogue, pop-culture rhythm, sudden bursts of violence, and a precision-engineered structure built around a botched heist and the paranoia that follows. The film stars Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney, and Michael Madsen, and it helped define the look and sound of 1990s crime cinema.
Poster design
This Japanese B2 uses one of the most iconic images in modern film marketing: the suited crew striding forward in a single line—cool, controlled, and ominous—set against bold, high-contrast typography that fills the frame with the title RESERVOIR DOGS. At the bottom, the small silhouetted group appears again, framed like a doorway, with colour “slash” marks beneath—an elegant graphic echo of the film’s coded identities and the violence simmering under the surface. It’s minimalist, instantly recognisable, and utterly era-defining.
