"“Se7en” (セブン) Seven", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1995, B2 Size (51 x 73cm) ZA546

Sale price $120.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for Seven (stylised as Se7en), David Fincher’s 1995 serial‑killer thriller starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. The film tracks two detectives as they hunt a murderer whose meticulously staged crimes are modelled on the seven deadly sins.

Film background
Veteran Detective Somerset is a week from retirement when he’s partnered with hot‑headed newcomer David Mills. Their investigation begins with the grotesque death of a man forced to eat himself to death, and escalates through a series of gruesome tableaux—gluttony, greed, sloth, lust and more—leaving philosophical calling cards about apathy and moral decay. The bleak, rain‑soaked city, unnerving credit sequence and devastating final twist have made Se7en one of the most influential crime films of the 1990s.

Poster design
The Japanese B2 opts for raw immediacy. Brad Pitt’s Detective Mills dominates the right side, mid‑scream and aiming his pistol directly at the viewer, the image cropped tightly for maximum tension. Behind him looms the shadowy killer, the word “PRIDE” scrawled across a crime‑scene photo taped to his back. Across the centre, bold white Japanese text warns of real terror, while the film’s stylised tally‑mark logo—seven bloody strokes with “seven” scrawled in red—slashes diagonally across the lower half. On the left border, vertical yellow text lists each of the seven sins in Japanese and English. The bottom band carries credits and the Japanese title 「セブン」 in distressed white lettering.
