Sale price $215.00

This is an original Japanese B3 nakazuri train-hanging advertising poster issued by Shueisha to promote the grand finale and full release of Slam Dunk Complete Edition (スラムダンク完全版), Takehiko Inoue’s premium 24-volume Kanzenban edition of the legendary basketball manga.

While Shueisha began rolling out the Slam Dunk Kanzenban volumes in March 2001, the final Volume 24 — featuring the conclusion of the climactic Sannoh match — was published in February 2002. This nakazuri train advertisement was hung during that early 2002 promotional window to notify commuting fans that the complete 24-volume set was finally available.

Series background
Created by Takehiko Inoue, Slam Dunk is one of the most influential sports manga ever published. Centred on Hanamichi Sakuragi, a delinquent-turned-basketball player at Shohoku High School, the series helped transform basketball’s popularity in Japan and remains one of the defining manga works of the 1990s.

The Kanzenban / Complete Edition presented the series in a premium 24-volume format, with newly drawn cover artwork and the inclusion of colour pages from the original serialization. This poster celebrates the moment when the entire edition — Volumes 1–24 — had become available.

Poster design
This B3 nakazuri uses a bold horizontal layout designed for fast visual impact inside a train carriage. Against a metallic gold background, Hanamichi Sakuragi appears in a dynamic dunking pose, wearing his red Shohoku No. 10 jersey, with sweat flying from his body and a basketball positioned to the left.

The official SLAM DUNK title appears in strong black lettering on the right, with スラムダンク完全版 above and 井上雄彦 beneath, identifying Takehiko Inoue as creator.

The main promotional copy reads:

「いま鮮烈に、完全版!! 全巻カバー描き下ろし、連載時カラーページも収録。ついに山王戦決着、24巻勢揃い。」

A natural rendering is:

“Now, vividly, the Complete Edition!! Newly drawn covers for every volume, with colour pages from the original serialization also included. At last, the Sannoh match reaches its conclusion — all 24 volumes are complete.”

The left-side text announces:

「1〜24巻 絶賛発売中」
“Volumes 1–24 now on sale to great acclaim.”

The original price is listed as ¥980 each including tax. The right-side border carries Shueisha’s web-order information, giving the poster additional period publishing context.

Collector significance
This is not a standard bookshop flyer or later reproduction, but an original B3 nakazuri transit advertisement tied directly to the early 2002 completion of the Slam Dunk Kanzenban release.

It has strong collector appeal because it combines:

Takehiko Inoue’s iconic basketball artwork
Hanamichi Sakuragi in Shohoku No. 10 uniform
The final 1–24 volume Kanzenban campaign
The conclusion of the Sannoh match
Original Shueisha promotional use
Japanese train-advertising format

Nakazuri posters were temporary advertising objects and were not intended to survive in quantity. For a manga title of this importance, this format makes the piece especially attractive and collectible.

Condition
Very Good condition. Please review the photo carefully, as it shows the exact poster for sale.

The poster presents very well, with strong colour, bold graphics, and excellent overall display impact. As expected for a vintage nakazuri advertising poster, there are visible signs of handling and storage, including light creasing and fold wear. These are consistent with the format and have been taken into account when pricing.

Once framed, it will display extremely well.
