This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1994 for the first theatrical release of Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, produced by Toho Pictures and distributed by Toho. Directed by Kenshō Yamashita and written by Hiroshi Kashiwabara, the film is the 21st entry in the Godzilla franchise and the sixth film in the Heisei series.

Featuring dynamic painted artwork by legendary illustrator Noriyoshi Ohrai, this sheet is one of the standout posters from his celebrated run of Heisei‑era Godzilla campaigns. Ohrai is best known internationally for the Empire Strikes Back poster and for creating key art for numerous Godzilla films from The Return of Godzilla (1984) through Godzilla: Final Wars (2004).

Film background
Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla pits the King of the Monsters against a crystalline clone born from Godzilla’s cells drifting into a black hole. The film introduces the villain SpaceGodzilla and brings back the giant mecha M.O.G.U.E.R.A., absent from screens since The Mysterians (1957). Starring Megumi Odaka, Jun Hashizume, Zenkichi Yoneyama, Akira Emoto, and Towako Yoshikawa, it opened in Japan on December 10, 1994, performed well at the box office, and later reached the U.S. on direct‑to‑video in 1999, where it gained a cult following despite mixed critical reaction.

Poster / artwork
Ohrai’s illustration turns the chaos of the film’s climax into a cosmic war tableau. Towering over Fukuoka’s skyline, SpaceGodzilla rises with jagged crystal “wings” erupting around him, his chest glowing with otherworldly energy. In the foreground, Godzilla and Little Godzilla brace for battle alongside the massive robot M.O.G.U.E.R.A., while artillery fire and star‑bright meteor trails streak across the sky. At center, Mothra glides like a celestial guardian between the two kaiju. The top carries the bold white copy 「破壊神降臨」 (“The God of Destruction descends”), while a vertical yellow tagline on the right teases the fusion of G‑cells and a black hole that created the “ultimate combat life‑form.” The title logo ゴジラvsスペースゴジラ explodes across the bottom in red and metallic lavender, anchoring one of the most spectacular Godzilla posters of the 1990s.
